Indian Railways has successfully transported a live heart for the first time in the healthcare sector through the Vande Bharat Express train. The effort to give a new life to a patient by delivering the live heart on time from Surat to Ahmedabad has been made successful.
Live Heart Safely Delivered by Vande Bharat Express The live heart was safely delivered from Surat to Ahmedabad via Train Number 20901 Mumbai Central-Gandhinagar Capital Vande Bharat Express. This heart has been taken to the U.N. Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Center in Ahmedabad for heart transplant.
Green Corridor from Ahmedabad Railway Station to U.N. Mehta Hospital Excellent coordination was observed between Indian Railways, Gujarat Police, RPF and the team of doctors in this entire operation. A Green Corridor was prepared from Platform Number-1 of Ahmedabad Railway Station to U.N. Mehta Hospital, due to which the live heart could be delivered to the hospital within the scheduled time without any delay.
For the first time in railway history, a human organ was transported by rail This live heart was taken from Surat at 9:18 AM and reached Ahmedabad Hospital at 12:55 PM. That means the live heart was brought from Surat to Ahmedabad by rail for the first time in 3 hours and 45 minutes. Due to heavy rains in South Gujarat, as no flights were operating, for the first time in Indian Railway history, a human organ was transported by rail. Before this, no human organ had been transported by rail.
