UP Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana left the program in Unnao in the middle of the national anthem. On Saturday, he arrived as the chief guest at the session of the Principals’ Council and the educational seminar. As per protocol, the police gave him a guard of honor. Immediately after this, the national anthem began.
In the middle of the national anthem, Satish Mahana saluted and descended towards the back of the stage. During this, his supporters, who were standing some distance away, also reached him and started touching his feet. After this, Mahana got into the car and left.
The whole incident is from a school in Pooran Nagar. Its video surfaced on Sunday. Program organizers told Dainik Bhaskar – The national anthem was playing quite far from where Satish Mahana was present.

Satish Mahana reached Aastha Auditorium of SVM Inter College around 4 PM on Saturday. He remained at the event for about 40 minutes. During this, the book ‘Shiksha Prabha’ was also released.
Satish Mahana appealed to principals and academicians to honestly fulfill their responsibilities. He said that educational institutions are the foundation of the country’s development. If the country’s institutions are strong, the country will also be strong.
He said that the amount given for the Ram Temple is a dedication at the feet of God. The talk of asking for it back is hurtful to the devotees.
Satish Mahana also unveiled the book ‘Shiksha Prabha’.
Congress leader asked – Is this not an insult to the national anthem?
Dinesh Shukla, leader of Unnao Congress Committee, alleged that the Speaker of the Assembly took the guard of honor under protocol and left during the national anthem. He questioned – Is this not an insult to the national anthem?
Satish Mahana said – Educational institutions are the foundation of the country’s development. If the country’s institutions are strong, then the country will also be strong.
Had warned to resign in the monsoon session
On August 5, during the monsoon session of the assembly, Satish Mahana had warned to resign. Regarding the uproar by the SP, he had said,
There is pain in my heart. For the first time, I felt that either there was a shortcoming in our efforts somewhere, or Dr. Ambedkar’s statement is correct that the shortcoming is not in the constitution, but in individuals.
He had said,
My long political innings is now in its final stage. I will have to seriously consider whether what I did in the last four and a half years was appropriate or inappropriate. I will also consider whether I am worthy of this chair or not, and will make a decision soon.
