A security alert has been issued ahead of an event featuring Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat at Madison Square Garden in New York.
The Hindu American Foundation (HAF) said on Thursday that New York City Council member Zohran Mamdani had taken an oath to protect the safety of all city residents.
The HAF said this should include people attending Bhagwat’s event.
The organisation has appealed to the Indian-American and Hindu communities to remain vigilant and be aware of their surroundings.
It also urged everyone to maintain peace during the event.
