Flood-like conditions prevail in Satna, Chitrakoot, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, and Panna in Madhya Pradesh. In Chitrakoot, the Mandakini River is flowing at a height of about 30 feet. Around 400 shops along the ghats have been submerged. People are stranded in homes and hotels. SDRF teams are engaged in rescue operations. An alert has been issued in 36 villages.
In Bihar, the water level of the Ganga is rising. Digha Ghat in Patna has been submerged. Meanwhile, the water level of the Gandak River at Dumaria Ghat in Bagaha is flowing above the danger mark. Six districts have been put on high alert.
In Rajasthan, due to the lack of rain and sunny weather, the maximum temperature in 15 cities, including Jaipur, was recorded above 35 degrees Celsius. Due to the weak monsoon this year, drought-like conditions prevail in 17 districts, including Jaipur.
More than 67,000 people are affected by floods in three districts of Odisha, while the Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rain in the northern and coastal regions of the state until September 2, which could worsen the situation.
