A video of a 15-year-old minor allegedly abusing PM Modi at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar during a Gen-Z protest has been posted by the Aam Aadmi Party. In the 39-second video, she says, “My life has become hell. I am being tortured everywhere.
Everything I had is gone. I can neither go anywhere nor live anywhere. I have no freedom. I have to hide my face wherever I go.” She then used offensive words against the PM.
Had apologised after the FIR was registered
During the student protest on 23 July, a video showed a minor using offensive language against PM Modi. Smriti Singh, a resident of Ghaziabad, filed a complaint against her at the Expressway Police Station in Noida.
Following the complaint, police registered a case against the minor on 30 July for intentional insult, causing public nuisance and defamation. The Cockroach Janta Party opposed the action.
After the FIR was registered, the minor apologised.
With folded hands, she said, “What I did was not worthy of forgiveness. I am only 15 years old. This is my first and last mistake. I will not say such things again. I am ashamed of my actions. I cannot look anyone in the eye. Please forgive me.”
The girl’s viral video is from July 23. In it, she was seen using offensive language for the PM.
CJP’s protest lasted for 36 days, ended with the Pradhan’s resignation
On May 15, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court made a comment about unemployed people, referring to them as cockroaches. In protest against the remark, the ‘Cockroach Janta Party’ was formed on social media on 16 May.
Its founder, Abhijeet Dipke, arrived in India on 6 June. From 20 June, protesters began a dharna at Jantar Mantar over the NEET paper leak issue.
The 36-day protest ended on 25 July after Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned. In a statement announcing his resignation, Pradhan said the events of the previous 10 days had deeply saddened him and that the issue was not about personal prestige.
Meanwhile, Sonam Wangchuk, who had been on a hunger strike with the students, also ended his 26-day fast after receiving assurances from the government.
