Air India Flight Emergency Landing in Ahmedabad Over Bomb Threat

An Air India flight travelling from Dammam, Saudi Arabia, to New Delhi made an emergency landing at Ahmedabad International Airport after a tissue paper carrying the word ‘BOMB’ was found on board. All passengers were evacuated from the aircraft and questioned as part of the security procedure.

A crew member on the Air India flight from Dammam to New Delhi found a tissue paper on which the word ‘BOMB’ was written.

After noticing the suspicious writing, the crew immediately informed the pilot. In accordance with security protocols, Ahmedabad airport was contacted and permission was sought for an emergency landing.

Given the seriousness of the situation, the airport authorities deployed all emergency services.

All 32 passengers safely evacuated

As soon as the aircraft landed on the Ahmedabad runway, it was moved away from the main area as a security precaution.

All 32 passengers on board were then carefully evacuated and taken safely to the terminal building by airport bus. A detailed inspection was carried out, while all passenger luggage was also kept separately for examination.

Fire brigade, CISF and bomb disposal teams inspect aircraft

Following the emergency landing, teams from the Fire Brigade, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Bomb Disposal Squad and search teams surrounded the aircraft and launched a thorough investigation.

Airport security officials and technical teams checked every part of the aircraft, including the cargo hold and passenger seats.

No suspicious or explosive material was found during the preliminary search, providing relief to the authorities. Security agencies are now conducting a detailed investigation to establish who left the threatening note and the purpose behind it.
