Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) co-convenor Saurav Das will lead a march to the Parliament Street police station on Friday. The march will seek justice for CJP worker Nishu Azad and his father, Sanjay Kumar.
Saurav Das said an FIR has been registered in connection with the alleged attack on Sanjay Kumar, but even after more than a month and a half, the police have not taken any concrete action against the accused.
Nishu Azad had participated in a CJP protest at Jantar Mantar in July. Following this, his father, Sanjay Kumar, was allegedly attacked. Nishu alleged that his father suffered a serious head injury in the attack. He said an FIR was registered after the incident, but no action has been taken against the accused so far. The accused has also admitted to carrying out the attack.
Nishu released a video on social media asking for help.
Nishu shared a video of Swatantra Bhardwaj; first, understand the full matter
In a podcast clip that has gone viral on social media, accused Swatantra Bhardwaj claimed that he was the one who injured Nishu’s father, Sanjay Kumar, on the head. He said 60 stitches were required. He also claimed that due to his political influence, he escaped without facing any major legal action.
Following this, Nishu Azad posted the video and said:
“A video of Swatantra Bhardwaj is going viral in which he himself is admitting that he was the one who injured my father on the head. Section 307 should be imposed against him. We had filed an FIR against him at the time of the incident, but the police are not doing anything. We have lost faith in the Delhi Police. Now, I have hope only in Rahul Gandhi. Please help me get justice. Now I hope Rahul Gandhi can deliver justice. How can people who have no fear of the law roam around freely? They should be behind bars. Especially when such people are proudly telling others about their wrongdoing.”
Swatantra Bhardwaj is a social media influencer
Swatantra Bhardwaj is a social media influencer who describes himself as an “independent Sanatani warrior”. He posts content on social media about issues related to Hindutva and has around 180,000 Instagram followers. He is reportedly a native of Darbhanga, Bihar, and currently lives in Delhi. His name has emerged in connection with the alleged assault on Sanjay Kumar during the CJP protest at Jantar Mantar.

Rahul said he would stand with Nishu
Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi posted on X in support of Nishu. He said Nishu was being targeted for raising her voice for the rights of her community and students.
He accused Home Minister Amit Shah of protecting the accused and asked whether action would now be taken against him.
After Rahul’s support, Nishu said she now hoped to get justice. She said having the backing of a senior leader like Rahul had strengthened her confidence and that she hoped Swatantra Bhardwaj would be sent to jail.
Police said Sanjay suffered a minor injury
The Delhi DCP said Sanjay Kumar, a resident of Ghaziabad, was injured on the head by a bangle worn by one of the accused during a scuffle at the CJP protest at Jantar Mantar on June 23. Doctors at RML Hospital described the injury as minor.
Police called reports of his head being split open a rumour and said a case was registered at Parliament Street police station based on Sanjay’s statement. Suraj Kumar and Swatantra Bhardwaj were detained and questioned and were served legal notices. According to police, a chargesheet will be filed in court soon.

Rahul brought four student protesters, including boys and girls, before the media. One student said they were called anti-national for saying ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’. She said that while they were marching peacefully, a police officer hit her on the upper part of her body.
Rahul Gandhi said the protesters had done nothing wrong and were being continuously harassed. He said these youngsters had fought for the future of the country and did not need to apologise. He thanked them for fighting for democracy.

Rahul Gandhi held a press conference at his residence, 10 Janpath, with a student who was injured during the protest. Rahul showed the wounds on the student’s hand, back and chest. He said, “I want to say that my brother standing here was injured by a pellet gun when he was peacefully protesting while carrying the Tricolour.”
CJP protest continued at Jantar Mantar for 36 days
The CJP held a continuous 36-day protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar from June 20 to July 25. Thousands of students, parents and young people joined the movement. Environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk also participated in the protest and went on a hunger strike.
On July 20, the CJP held a march to Parliament, during which police lathi-charged the students. On July 25, the CJP announced the end of the protest following the resignation of then Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
