A notice has been issued to scientist CNR Rao in Karnataka over a discrepancy in his name following a Special Intensive Revision (SIR).
In the old records, his name is listed as ‘Prof CNR Rao’, while the new records show it as ‘ProfCNR Rao’. It is now written as ‘Proff’.
The notice has asked him to appear for a hearing in Malleshwaram, Bengaluru, to resolve the issue.
However, Rao’s office said it has not received any notice so far. Although the notice was issued online, his office said it has not seen it.
Rao, a Bharat Ratna awardee, is among India’s most respected scientists.
