Musician AR Rahman’s son and singer AR Ameen was involved in a road accident in Chennai on Monday morning. His luxury Porsche collided with a Wagon-R near the Olympia Tech Park signal in Guindy.
Ameen, 23, and his friend suffered minor injuries in the accident. Police said both were taken to a nearby Kauvery Hospital for treatment and were later discharged. The occupant of the other car was also given first aid and discharged from the hospital.

The accident happened at 3:30 am; police seized both vehicles
According to a News18 report, the accident took place around 3:30 AM on Monday. Ameen’s friend was also travelling with him in the Porsche at the time. The car collided with a Rapido Wagon-R that was entering the main road from a side road.

The passenger travelling in the Wagon-R was also injured in the collision and was taken to Kalaignar Centenary Super Speciality Hospital for treatment. Police have registered a case and seized both vehicles. An investigation into the accident is underway.

The exact Porsche model involved in the accident has not been officially revealed. However, the Rahman family owns a Porsche Taycan electric car. In 2022, AR Rahman shared a picture of the car with his daughters, Khatija Rahman and Raheema Rahman. The car had an ‘ARR Studios’ number plate.

The Porsche Taycan is reportedly worth around ₹1.53 crore. AR Rahman’s car collection also includes a Volvo SUV reportedly valued at ₹3 crore, along with a Mercedes-Benz and a Jaguar worth more than ₹1 crore.

At 23, AR Ameen is following in his father AR Rahman’s footsteps and building his own career in music. A playback singer, Ameen recently lent his voice to the Tamil version of ‘Chikiri Chikiri’ from Ram Charan’s film Peddi.
