Bihar IPS Officers Transfer: Bhojpur & Siwan SPs Moved

18 IPS officers from Bihar, including Bhojpur and Siwan, have been transferred. One IPS officer has been given additional charge. Among them, the most talked-about name is Siwan SP Puran Kumar Jha.

During a student protest in Siwan, there was firing with an AK-47. He came into much discussion after this incident. Now SP Puran Kumar Jha has been removed. In his place, Bharat Soni has been made the new SP of Siwan.

Bharat Soni, a 2019 batch IPS officer, was previously posted in Nalanda. Puran Kumar Jha is currently awaiting a new posting. Before this, DM Vivek Ranjan Maitreya was removed. He is also on the waiting list.

Meanwhile, Bhojpur SP Shri. Raj has also been transferred and sent to Rohtas. He came into the discussion after the Bharat Tiwari encounter case. Bharat Tiwari’s brother had accused him of threatening to withdraw the case.

Before this, Bhojpur’s DM was also transferred. Manoj Kumar Meena has been made the new DM of Bhojpur in place of Tanay Sultania. After the Bharat encounter, Awadhesh Dixit has been given the responsibility of Bhojpur.

Who got what charge and where?

  • IPS officer Anil Kumar of the 2010 batch was currently posted as DIG, Finance and Technical Services, Bihar. He has now been made DIG of Prohibition and NNTF.
  • IPS officer Mrityunjay Kumar Chaudhary of the 2010 batch was currently DIG in the Vigilance and Investigation Bureau. He has now been posted as DIG of Civil Defence.
  • IPS officer Rajiv Ranjan-2 of the 2012 batch was previously DIG in Human Rights. He has now been made DIG of the Special Surveillance Unit.
  • IPS officer Ajay Kumar Pandey of the 2012 batch was previously DIG in Prohibition and NNTF, and has now been made DIG of Finance and Technical Services.
  • IPS officer Amir Javed of the 2012 batch was previously DIG in the Weaker Sections and Women’s Cell, Criminal Investigation Department. Now he has been made DIG of the Vigilance and Investigation Bureau.
  • IPS officer Mithilesh Kumar of the 2012 batch was previously SP in EOU. Now he has been given the responsibility of Commandant in BSAP-9, Jamalpur.
  • IPS officer Sushil Kumar of the 2012 batch was previously DIG in Legal Affairs and Rules, now he has been given the additional charge of DIG Human Rights.
