Bihar & Uttarakhand Flood Alert

Continuous rain in Uttar Pradesh has caused rivers to swell. Twenty-six districts are affected by flooding, impacting a population of 400,000. In Farrukhabad, 15 houses have been washed away into the Ganges within 10 days. A rain alert has been issued for 22 cities on Thursday.

The monsoon is active in Bihar. More than nine rivers in the state are in spate, leaving 3.4 million people in 13 districts surrounded by floodwaters. Meanwhile, three people died after being struck by lightning in Tarona, Araria district.

The monsoon in Madhya Pradesh has taken another three-day break. The Meteorological Department has not forecast heavy rain anywhere in the state until September 11.

A low-pressure area will become active over the west-central and northwestern Bay of Bengal from Friday, bringing light rain in some places.

Rainfall continues in Uttarakhand. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain is likely in Dehradun, Tehri, Nainital, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag, and Uttarkashi from September 10 to 12.
