During the Assembly elections held in five states in April this year, the BJP received around ₹1,472.8 crore at its central headquarters.
According to the Election Commission, this amount is more than seven times the net receipts of ₹207.17 crore received by the Congress’s central and state units. These elections were held in Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Puducherry.
In the results announced on May 4, the NDA won in Assam, Bengal and Puducherry. Meanwhile, INDIA formed the government in Kerala, while TVK and the Congress formed the government in Tamil Nadu.
