Chandan Rathod, popularly known as Gujju Love Guru, who had won the hearts of Gujaratis with his distinctive comedy, died in a tragic road accident near Bhabhar.
He was returning home after finishing a shoot when his bike met with an accident near Haridham Gaushala on September 17. CCTV footage has now emerged showing Rathod at a petrol pump just minutes before the accident, where he was seen refuelling the same bike.

Rathod died after his bike met with an accident near Haridham Gaushala in Bhabhar. After learning about the accident, his fans and acquaintances reached the hospital. His sudden death has left people across the area mourning.
Rathod had 1.8 million followers on Instagram and one million subscribers on YouTube. His funeral procession was taken out in the evening, and his last rites will be performed at the village crematorium.

Chandan Rathod was returning with his village-based team after completing a video shoot when the accident occurred. CCTV footage has also emerged showing him refuelling his bike at a petrol pump shortly before the accident.

People close to Chandan Rathod said that despite coming from Suigam, a village near the Pakistan border, he made a name for both himself and his village across Gujarat through his distinctive talent. His death has left not only his family but also the entire Suigam taluka and Gujarat mourning.
A local resident of Suigam said, “Chandanbhai’s untimely death is a deeply painful incident for the entire area, Suigam taluka and Gujarat. Because of his popularity, Suigam gained a distinct identity across Gujarat. Chandanbhai was a very talented comedian, and the entire village is mourning his loss.”

Details have also emerged about Chandan Rathod’s struggles and journey. According to his family and friends, he initially went to Morbi for a job. After returning, he wanted to do something different and became active on social media.
He gradually started making comedy videos and went on to establish himself across Gujarat as ‘Gujju Love Guru’.
One of his friends said, “He came here with the motivation to do something different. Gradually, he became active on social media as a comedy king and made a name for himself as Gujju Love Guru. The man who made millions of people laugh is no longer with us.”
‘We simply could not believe it…’
When his friends first heard about his sudden death, they could not believe the news. A friend said, “This was his last video. After watching the video, when we received calls and messages, we simply could not believe that something like this had happened to us. We felt nothing could happen to Gujju Love Guru. Later, we rushed there and learnt that our friend was no longer with us.”

Chandan Rathod’s friend Bharatsinh Rajusinh said his family had lived through financial hardships for years. His father worked as a labourer and supported the family by cultivating land on a sharecropping basis.
Despite coming from such circumstances, Chandan built a distinct identity for himself through social media.

After news of the accident spread, Chandan’s fans and acquaintances gathered at the hospital. News of the comedian’s sudden death has left the entire area mourning.

Banaskantha MP Geniben Thakor described Chandan Rathod’s death as a deeply painful incident for the region.
She said Chandanbhai, a native of Suigam, had earned a special place in the hearts of people in the area through his comedy videos and his popular identity as ‘Gujju Love Guru’.
“His death in the accident is deeply distressing. A large number of his fans in the region are going through a very difficult time after hearing the news. I pray to God to grant peace to his soul and give his family the strength to cope with this immense loss,” she said.

Geniben urged youngsters to learn from Chandan’s last video, in which he had said that there is no guarantee of life. He said it was deeply painful that Chandan made the video just four hours before his death and was no longer among them.
He also expressed solidarity with Chandan’s family and assured them of support in any need, big or small.
Appeal to youngsters to ride safely and wear helmets
Geniben said such incidents should become a reason for greater road-safety awareness among the youth. He urged young bikers to ride calmly and responsibly, avoid reckless riding and protect their lives by wearing helmets as often as possible.
