Delhi is cracking down on illegal construction after the deadly Satya Niketan PG collapse. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has ordered the MCD to demolish illegal buildings across the city and inspect every PG hostel to find out when violations happened — and who allowed them. Seven people died in the September 6 collapse, while 24 properties have already been demolished and seven sealed.
The Red Fort blast investigation has also revealed a chilling detail. The NIA has named Umar un Nabi as the alleged mastermind behind the terror conspiracy, saying he was inside the car when it exploded and died in the blast. The November 2025 attack killed 11 people and injured 29.

After the Satya Niketan PG collapse, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta has told the MCD to crack down on illegal construction.
She wants illegal buildings demolished across Delhi and senior officials to be present during the action.
She has also ordered checks of all PG hostels to find out when illegal construction happened and who allowed it.

Red Fort blast mastermind exposed! Umar was inside exploded car
The NIA has named Umar un Nabi as the mastermind behind the terror conspiracy linked to the Red Fort car blast on 10 November 2025.
The charge sheet says Nabi was inside the car when it exploded and died in the blast. Investigators say he and Rahul Bhat were trying to revive the defunct AGuH module since 2022.
The blast killed 11 people, injured 29 and damaged nearby vehicles and property. The charge sheet surfaced on 9 September. READ MORE
Flood-hit Nepal gets fresh rain alert; thousands remain missing
Nepal is bracing for another spell of rough weather, with heavy rain and thunderstorms forecast across several provinces on Wednesday.
Madhesh, Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini could see heavy showers in hilly and Terai areas. Himalayan regions may also get thunderstorms, rain and snowfall.

1. NTA will continue UGC-NET June 2026 re-examinations on September 10 with the Sociology paper from 9 am to noon. The re-exams for English and Commerce began earlier after errors were found in the original June exams. The re-examination aims to ensure a fair assessment for candidates seeking eligibility for JRF, Assistant Professor posts and PhD admissions.
2. Rouse Avenue Court will pronounce its order on September 10 on protest petitions filed by Congress leaders Sandeep Dikshit and Manickam Tagore against the CBI’s closure report in the alleged coal block allocation case involving M/s Nippon Denro Ispat Ltd. The court’s order will decide whether the matter warrants further proceedings based on the allegations raised by the Congress leaders.
3. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay will travel to the UK on September 10 for his first foreign trip after taking office. During his visit until September 16, he will hold meetings with investors to attract major industrial investments to the state. The outreach aims to strengthen Tamil Nadu’s position in the competition for global manufacturing and capital investment in southern India.
4. Panchatv Bharat Limited’s IPO will open for subscription on September 10 and close on September 15, 2026. The New Delhi-based denim fabric maker plans to raise ₹24.58 crore by offering 17.56 lakh shares at ₹140 each. The funds will be used to set up a corporate office and warehouse in Ahmedabad. The shares are proposed to be listed on the BSE SME platform.
5. The Calcutta High Court will hear on Thursday a petition by the All India Kisan Sabha, a Left-backed farmers’ organisation, seeking permission to hold a rally in Raina, West Bengal’s Purba Bardhaman district, on September 11. The hearing follows the group’s claim that police authorities did not respond to its request or reminder.
