Govinda visited Mumbai’s Lalbaugcha Raja on 22 September with his rumoured girlfriend, Komal Rani Swarnkar. The two sought Bappa’s blessings and performed puja. Rumours of their affair have intensified again because Sunita Ahuja had arrived alone to seek blessings just a short while before Govinda and Rani. Until last year, Govinda and Sunita had celebrated Ganeshotsav together.
A video of their visit has gone viral on social media. Govinda and Komal Rani offered prasad at the pandal. The two took part in the puja, and the priest applied tilak to their foreheads. After seeking blessings, Govinda waved to fans gathered outside.

Sunita claims: Govinda was planning to marry Komal Rani
Sunita Ahuja filed for divorce from Govinda in December 2025, but withdrew the petition on 19 August. During a conversation with Rakhi Sawant over the phone, Sunita claimed that Govinda was planning to marry Komal after the divorce, which was why she withdrew the divorce case.
Sunita Ahuja arrived at the Bandra family court in Mumbai on 19 August. Her son Yashvardhan was with her. Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, confirmed in a conversation with Dainik Bhaskar that Sunita had withdrawn the divorce case, which she had filed in December 2024.

In an interview with NDTV, manager Shashi Sinha said, “There was no need to go to court. Matters at home could have been resolved by sitting down and discussing them at home. If the petition was going to be withdrawn today, why was the case filed in the first place? I am deeply saddened that, without any reason, we all became a spectacle.”

Divorce case filed in December 2024
It may be recalled that Sunita Ahuja filed for divorce against Govinda in the Bandra Family Court in December 2024. The news had emerged in August last year, when Hauterfly reported that Sunita had filed for divorce under Sections 13(1)(i), (ia) and (ib) of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955. In the petition, she levelled serious allegations against Govinda, including cruelty, infidelity and desertion.

Sunita Ahuja had also commented on the dressing sense of actress Komal, who was seen with Govinda. She had said that if the other person’s sugar daddy was so wealthy, she should at least dress appropriately.
Govinda was angered by his wife’s statements
Meanwhile, Govinda was angered by his wife Sunita’s objectionable statements. Govinda warned her that she should stay within her limits. The actor also defended his co-star and said that Sunita was leaving no stone unturned to defame her.
Govinda had said,
I do not take up the work I am offered outside, and you are interfering in the work I am doing. When you were doing your own work, whether it was the cooking show (Laughter Chefs) or Lock Upp, you got me called in through Tina (your daughter) and used my services. Anyway, that is your right, but ever since I started the film, you have been leaving no stone unturned to make me fall out of people’s favour, get defamed or face a situation where I do not get work.
Meanwhile, Govinda had defended his co-star Rani Swarnakar, saying:
If people from poor families have entered the film industry, do not defame or humiliate them in such a way that they leave. You have ability, power, respect, wealth and fame-all of these have been given to you by God. That does not mean you should humiliate someone who does not have these things. It does not suit you.
She has started using far too many mother-and-sister slurs: Govinda
In his video, Govinda also said, “I would also like to say that, Sunita ji, you have started using a lot of abusive language invoking mothers and sisters. Pray to God that if people are inspired by you, where will you look in the mirror? If people start using such language against you as well, we will all be deeply ashamed. This is not right. You have cheapened the names of mothers and sisters. This is not what we expected from you.”
Speaking about rumours of Govinda’s affair in an interview with Miss Malini, Sunita had said that people make mistakes in their youth, but it was not right to hear all this at the age of 63. Sunita had said, “This name is a bit problematic. I hate the name Komal. There is one Komal, some XYZ person. I hate her.”
Govinda kept his marriage to Sunita hidden from the public for nearly two years because of his career.
Sunita said Govinda had had several affairs
Sunita Ahuja recently became a contestant on the show ‘Lock Upp 2’. During the show, she spoke about Govinda’s alleged affairs. She said, “In love, you should be able to tolerate everything. Chichi (Govinda) had several affairs in his youth. I ignored them then, but I will not do so now.”

Govinda and Sunita Ahuja got married in a private ceremony in 1987. By then, Govinda had become a Bollywood star. The couple kept their marriage a secret for nearly two years for the sake of Govinda’s career. They made their marriage public after the birth of their daughter, Tina Ahuja.
