Sunita Ahuja and her son Yashvardhan were spotted at the Family Court in Mumbai on Wednesday, amid reports of differences between Sunita and Govinda. A video from outside the court shows paparazzi asking them about their visit.
Govinda’s manager told Dainik Bhaskar that he had not been informed about the matter.
Yashvardhan escorted his mother to the car and shielded her from the cameras, saying, “Nothing happened. Let it go.” Before leaving, Sunita appeared irritated and said, “We went to celebrate a birthday,” before getting into the car.

Reports of Sunita Ahuja filing for divorce from Govinda first surfaced in August 2025. According to a report by Hotterfly, she had allegedly filed a petition under Sections 13(1)(i), 13(1)(ia) and 13(1)(ib) of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, citing allegations including cruelty, infidelity and desertion. The reports also claimed that the petition had been filed in the Bandra Family Court in December 2024.
More recently, Govinda was spotted with Komal Rani Swarnakar, his co-star in the upcoming comeback film Roopa. Reacting to the sighting, Sunita reportedly criticised Govinda for being seen with a woman she described as being around their daughter’s age.

Sunita Ahuja had also commented on the dressing sense of actress Komal, who was seen with Govinda. She had said that if the other person’s sugar daddy is so rich, they should at least wear proper clothes.
A person should have their own standard. Sunita, giving her own example, said that people should see how stylishly they live. She called the entire incident very bad and a cheap mentality.

Meanwhile, Govinda was enraged by his wife Sunita’s objectionable statements. Govinda had warned her, saying that she should stay within her limits. The actor also defended his co-star and said that Sunita was leaving no stone unturned to defame him.
Govinda had said,
The work that comes from outside, I don’t do it, and what I am doing, you are interfering in it. And when you were doing your work, whether it was a cooking show (Laughter Chef) or Lock Upp, you called me through Tina (daughter) and took my services. Well, that’s your right, but the moment I started a film, you are leaving no stone unturned to make me fall out of people’s hearts, get defamed, or something happens that my business doesn’t work out.
Meanwhile, Govinda defended co-actress Rani Swarnakar and said,
If people from poor families have entered the film industry, do not defame or shame them in such a way that they run away. You have capability, strength, respect, wealth, fame, everything has been given to you by God. This does not mean that you should humiliate those who do not possess these things. This does not suit you.
Started using a lot of abusive language – Govinda
Govinda had also said in his video that I would also like to say that Sunita ji, you have started using a lot of mother-sister abuses. Pray to God that if people get inspired by you, where will you look in the mirror? If people start abusing mother-sister with you, then we will all be very ashamed. This is not right. You have made the name of mother-sister very cheap. This is not expected from you.
In an interview given to Miss Malini, Sunita, while talking about Govinda’s affair rumors, had said that mistakes happen in youth, but hearing all this at the age of 63 is not right. Sunita had said, ‘This name is a bit problematic. I hate the name Komal. There is one Komal, X Y Z, whoever it is. I hate her.’
Due to his career, Govinda kept his marriage to Sunita hidden from the world for almost two years.

Sunita Ahuja recently became a contestant on the show ‘Lock Upp 2’. During the show, she spoke about Govinda’s alleged affairs. She had said, “In love, you should be able to tolerate everything. Chi Chi (Govinda) had many affairs in his youth. I ignored them then, but I won’t now.”
