
Dharnavada police have registered an FIR.
A 26-year-old woman, who was reportedly engaged to an engineer, was allegedly subjected to a brutal assault and an attempted gang rape after she and her fiancé were lured into stopping near Hanuman Tekri in Guna, Madhya Pradesh, on Thursday night.
According to the woman’s complaint, a group of four to five men stopped the couple on the pretext that their motorcycle had a puncture. The accused allegedly took away the bike keys, dragged the couple into a nearby forest and assaulted and robbed them.
The woman has alleged that the men tore her clothes, restrained her and attempted to sexually assault her. She also alleged that one of the accused inserted a wooden object into her private parts, causing serious injuries.
The incident took place under Dharanawada police station limits. Police have registered a case and constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to identify and arrest the accused.
‘They stopped us saying their bike had a puncture’
According to police, the woman, originally from Kolkata and currently residing in Jharkhand, had gone to Hanuman Tekri with her friend for darshan.
At around 8 pm on Thursday, while the two were returning on a motorcycle, some youths stopped them near a petrol pump, claiming that their motorcycle had a puncture.
As soon as the couple stopped, the accused allegedly took away the motorcycle key and led them towards the forest along the roadside.

Accused allegedly called more accomplices
The woman told police that after reaching the forest, the men allegedly called additional accomplices.
The group allegedly assaulted both the man and woman with sticks and slapped them. They also allegedly took away their mobile phones and motorcycle.
The woman alleged that her fiancé was taken to a separate location and that the accused attempted to assault him as well.
Woman alleges clothes were torn and hands tied
According to the complaint, the accused allegedly tore the woman’s clothes and attempted to sexually assault her one after another.
When she resisted, they allegedly tied her hands with pieces of clothing and assaulted her. She further alleged that one of the accused inserted a wooden object into her private parts, leaving her seriously injured.
Passerby alerts police through Dial 112
The woman said she could hear her fiancé screaming from some distance during the incident.
Meanwhile, a passerby allegedly noticed what was happening and alerted police by calling Dial 112.
A police team reached the spot shortly afterwards, following which the accused allegedly fled from the area.
The couple was taken to the police station, and the woman was sent for a medical examination.

Dharanawada police have filed an FIR in the matter.
Police checking CCTV footage
Police have registered a case against the accused under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Teams are examining CCTV footage from cameras installed around the incident site to identify the suspects.
Four to five suspects allegedly involved
Guna Superintendent of Police Hitika Vasal said the woman had undergone a medical examination.
“Four to five teams are searching for the accused. An SIT has also been constituted to investigate the case,” she said.
According to the preliminary investigation, four to five people are suspected to have been involved in the incident. The accused remain at large.
