Asim Riaz and Himanshi Khurana participated together in the TV show ‘Bigg Boss 13’ in the year 2019.
Actress Himanshi Khurana responded on Monday to the claims made by ex-boyfriend Asim Riaz regarding religious conversion and personal disputes. Himanshi stated that she had not spoken about forced religious conversion. She mentioned sharing facts related to religious conversion, CCTV footage, and recordings, and also spoke about presenting evidence of violence.
On social media platform X, Himanshi wrote,
I have always maintained respect and discretion while sharing details of my personal life with people. Whether it is my Bigg Boss experience, my spiritual journey, or matters related to my health, I have always spoken honestly about these parts of my life. I have never used them to insult anyone or target anyone.
She further added,
I never said that forced religious conversion took place. People and the media made this up according to their own narrative, but when my health is mocked and my struggles are questioned, I feel that I must now set my boundaries.
Himanshi said – I will speak the whole truth with evidence
Himanshi stated that if it comes to evidence, she is ready to share the facts and proof related to the religious conversion case. She wrote,
If we are talking about evidence, then let’s talk about the whole thing. I am ready to show the facts and evidence related to the religious conversion case. This includes CCTV footage and recordings. I hope you remember the morning of November 27, 2023. I can also bring forward evidence of the violence I faced.
Himanshi said that she will not remain silent to save Asim’s image. She wrote,
If you want to tarnish my image, then I will no longer hide everything to save your image. If I am insulted and humiliated repeatedly, I will not stay silent either. People from various production houses and channels have hidden your actions, but now I will not do so.
Himanshi said that she maintained her dignity and showed respect during the controversy.
She wrote,
I have always maintained my dignity and given respect to others. In return, I expect the same respect. If I do not get respect, then there is no reason to remain silent anymore.
If you want to talk about ‘proof’, then let’s do it honestly. With the complete truth, facts, and accountability.
Himanshi further wrote, “If you want to play the game of proof, then let’s play it honestly with facts, accountability, and the complete truth.”
At the end of her statement, Himanshi asked why there should be a problem with her sharing her life and the lessons learned from it when others speak openly about their experiences.
She wrote, P.S. I don’t understand why people have a problem when I talk about my life and the lessons I’ve learned from it. When others openly share their experiences, why are there different rules for me telling my story?
Himanshi and Asim were in a relationship for about 4 years.
Asim objected to bringing religion into the controversy
Asim Riaz denied asking Himanshi to change her religion on Instagram. He stated that religion should not be brought into personal disputes to gain attention.
Asim wrote, “I never asked anyone to change their religion. Not even once. In fact, it was I who introduced you to fitness. You came into this shape only after meeting me; everyone knows how you looked before that.”
He further wrote, “Therefore, do not use religion as a weapon. This is a very sensitive subject. Making a personal matter a reason to create hatred for me in people’s minds is immaturity, and it only shows how low you can stoop to grab attention.” Read the full story here.
The controversy began when Himanshi appeared on Paras Chhabra’s podcast. During this, Paras Chhabra asked Himanshi, “Was your religious conversion about to happen?” To which Himanshi replied, “One night, an incident occurred where I was told that I could not do this thing. After that, I said with my own mouth that before this, I have to complete the pilgrimage of Char Dham and all the temples because then I would never be able to visit them again, as if I were saying goodbye.”
She further added that then such weird thoughts started coming into my mind. I started thinking that if I recite your prayers, how would you know that ‘Om Namah Shivaya’ is not coming from within me.
The two broke up in December 2023
Asim and Himanshi announced their separation on 6 December, 2023, after being in a relationship for about four years. At that time, Himanshi had cited different religious beliefs as the reason for the breakup.
