IPL founder and businessman Lalit Modi has expressed his anger over reports claiming he will participate in the upcoming season of the reality show, Bigg Boss 20. Calling the reports completely fake, Modi has sent legal notices to those spreading the rumours. He made it clear that he is not part of the show and has no plans to join it in the future.
Businessman slams media for publishing unverified news
On Saturday morning, Lalit Modi took to his official X (formerly Twitter) account to deny the rumours. He wrote, “Fake news. Period. I have not been approached for Bigg Boss 20. I am not participating in Bigg Boss 20, nor do I have any intention of doing so.”
He further expressed his surprise at how fabricated stories become “news” without anyone verifying the facts with the person involved. He added that his lawyers have issued a legal notice, suggesting that media outlets should verify facts before publishing.
Legal notice calls the rumours false and baseless
Modi also shared the legal notice sent by his lawyers, Hirani & Associates. The notice warned publications and social media accounts that ran the stories about his participation.
The legal notice stated that the claims of Lalit Modi being a contestant on Bigg Boss 20 are false, baseless, and mischievous. It clarified that neither the show’s producers, broadcasters, channel, nor any representatives have contacted him. Furthermore, the notice stated that no one has been authorised to represent Modi or make statements on his behalf regarding the show. It also strongly objected to the unauthorised use of his name, photos, voice, and identity.
Bigg Boss 20 to premiere on 6 September
Meanwhile, excitement continues to build among viewers for the 20th season of Bigg Boss. Salman Khan is set to return as the host. Bigg Boss 20 will premiere on 6 September on Jio Hotstar and Colors. The first trailer of the show has already given fans a glimpse of a brand-new format.
