MP to receive rain before monsoon withdrawal
Rainfall is expected to continue in Madhya Pradesh as the monsoon begins to withdraw from the state. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rain alert for several districts from September 24.
Madhya Pradesh has so far received 91% of its seasonal monsoon rainfall.
Rivers remain swollen in Uttar Pradesh
The monsoon is weakening in Uttar Pradesh, but several rivers continue to remain in spate. In Lalitpur, water from the Betwa River is flowing over a bridge, while boats are being used to navigate flooded lanes in Unnao.
Several districts in the state may receive rainfall between September 21 and 26.
Kerala gets yellow alert in six districts
Kerala is likely to experience heavy rain for the second consecutive day on Monday. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Idukki and Thrissur districts.
