- NEET UG Controversy: Supreme Court Reviews Investigation Committee Petition | Delhi
Petitioners seeking an inquiry into the alleged police action against students at Jantar Mantar during the July 20 Parliament march against the NEET-UG paper leak approached the Supreme Court on Tuesday. They sought the reconstitution of the High-Powered Inquiry Committee (HPEC) set up by the court.
A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant said the five-member committee, headed by former Supreme Court judge Justice R. Subhash Reddy, is functioning under the “direct supervision” of the Supreme Court.
The court also made it clear that the matter has not been disposed of and remains pending. Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V. Mohana were also part of the bench.
