Nishu Azad has alleged stone-pelting at his house on Saturday night.
Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) activist Nishu Azad alleged on Saturday night that some people were surrounding her house and that stones and bricks were being thrown at it.
She released a video about the incident on social media. She appealed to the Delhi and Ghaziabad police for the safety of her parents and family. In a video, she said, “If something happens to my parents, who will be responsible?”
Meanwhile, content creator Swatantra Bhardwaj was arrested on Saturday in connection with the alleged assault on her father, Sanjay Azad, during the Jantar Mantar protest.
NSUI president reaches her home, questions police action
After the video surfaced, NSUI national president Vinod Jakhar reached Sanjay Azad’s home on Saturday and met his family.
Questioning the police action, he said Swatantra Bhardwaj had himself admitted to attacking Sanjay Azad, yet no action was taken initially. Jakhar claimed that the police became active after Rahul Gandhi raised the issue.

Nishu accused of insulting Hindu deities
Two lawyers have filed complaints with the police against Nishu and her father. They alleged that the two made objectionable remarks about Hindu deities on social media. Lawyer Amita Sachdeva said an old X post by the activist used objectionable words for Goddess Durga and mocked Goddess Saraswati.
The activist rejected the allegations, saying, “An illegal demand is being made to send my father to jail.” Meanwhile, lawyer Prateek Jha filed a separate complaint alleging discrimination in police action at Jantar Mantar.
Swatantra Bhardwaj-Nishu Azad case: Developments over the past two days
September 4: CJP leaders and supporters protested outside Parliament Street Police Station in support of Nishu Azad and her father. Nishu’s lawyer, Rishav Ranjan, demanded that the police add sections related to attempt to murder, criminal intimidation and the SC/ST Act. The police added these sections. Swatantra was taken into custody.
September 5: A Hindu organisation staged a protest in Delhi in support of Swatantra Bhardwaj. The protest was called by Daksh Chaudhary, who is known for assaulting and slapping high-profile people. He had also slapped Kanhaiya Kumar.
The victim, accused and Delhi Police’s versions in the assault case
Sanjay was allegedly attacked during a protest at Jantar Mantar on June 23. After the incident, CJP founder Abhijeet Deepke called him on stage and spoke to him.
1. Victim’s side — Sanjay Kumar/Nishu Azad
Sanjay Kumar, father of CJP activist Nishu Azad, was injured during the CJP protest at Jantar Mantar on June 23. A case was registered at Parliament Street Police Station based on Sanjay’s complaint. Nishu alleges that her father’s head was split open and that even after one-and-a-half months, the police had not taken adequate action.
2. Accused — Swatantra Bhardwaj
In a viral podcast, Swatantra Bhardwaj claimed that he had attacked Sanjay on the head and that Sanjay received 60 stitches. He also said that he did not have to go to jail. Bhardwaj later changed his statement, saying the incident was not an attack but an act of self-defence. He claimed that 10-15 people had surrounded him and that the crowd could have beaten him if he had not acted in self-defence.
3. Delhi Police’s version
According to the police, Sanjay Kumar suffered an injury to his head after being struck by a kada (bracelet) on June 23. He was taken to RML Hospital for a medical examination. The Medico-Legal Case report described the injury as simple.
The police denied claims that Sanjay had suffered a skull injury or fracture. Police had initially called Swatantra for questioning and then released him. He has now been taken into custody again after pressure from the CJP, and new sections have been added to the case.
