PM Modi chaired the third high-level meeting with secretaries at his residence at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg.

PM Modi held a meeting with central secretaries on Thursday. According to the PMO’s statement, Modi asked officials to connect with universities and youth, so that new ideas can be obtained in policy making.

After student protests at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar last month regarding the NEET paper leak, the government is giving priority to youth.

The PM also interacted with students through reels on Instagram. Not only this, the PM has also asked ministers to remain active on social media.

PM said – Officials should fulfill their responsibilities properly

Modi informed on X that in the meeting with secretaries, discussions were held on the work of ministries related to infrastructure, connectivity, security and foreign affairs.

The Prime Minister said that secretaries should focus on today’s problems and data while also thinking about the country’s future.

PM discussed 10 issues; said- AI monitoring necessary, innovation should increase

1. Education and Youth: There should be more dialogue between government, universities and youth, so that new and different ideas can be included in policies.

2. Infrastructure and Connectivity: Asked to work on infrastructure and connectivity according to future needs with better coordination between ministries.

3. Security and Foreign Policy: Discussed the future action plan for ministries related to security and foreign affairs.

4. Data and AI: Emphasized on better use of data and AI. Stated human monitoring and decision-making as necessary in AI.

5. Research and Innovation: Emphasized increasing research and innovation in all sectors, especially the defense sector.

6. Defense: Stressed on making India more competitive globally by increasing research in the defense sector.

7. Maritime Sector: Highlighted the need to create a comprehensive strategy to strengthen the maritime sector.

8. Shipbuilding: After shipbuilding received infrastructure status, asked to monitor whether the set targets are being achieved or not.

9. Ports: Spoke about focusing on ‘port-led development’ instead of just building ports.

10. Manufacturing and Export: Emphasis was placed on providing better connectivity to manufacturing units and export units.
