Rajpal Yadav Cheque Bounce Case | Supreme Court Relief

Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav has received relief from the Supreme Court in an ongoing cheque bounce dispute. The court has given him a final opportunity to deposit at least ₹2 crore with the Supreme Court Registry within two weeks.

The case involves a private complainant, who is the owner of Murali Productions. According to the matter before the court, Yadav owes a total of ₹5 crore to the complainant.

Court questions Yadav’s past conduct

A bench led by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant expressed concern over Rajpal Yadav’s previous conduct in the matter. The court observed that his past actions did not inspire confidence.

During the hearing, the CJI questioned how anyone could trust Yadav given his earlier conduct. He also made a sharp remark about the actor, saying that he is good at “drama and acting” in Bollywood and suggested that the same was happening in court.

Yadav’s lawyer gives an assurance

The Supreme Court still decided to give the actor a final two-week opportunity. Yadav’s counsel assured the court that he would deposit at least ₹2 crore within the given period.

The counsel also assured the court that Yadav would provide surety for the remaining amount owed to the complainant. Based on this assurance, the court continued the protection already granted to the actor from arrest.

Protection from arrest continues

The Supreme Court has continued Rajpal Yadav’s protection from arrest until the next hearing. The matter will now be heard on October 5.

However, the court has also imposed a condition on the actor. He has been directed to surrender his passport.

The dispute involves ₹5 crore

The ongoing case centres on a financial dispute between Rajpal Yadav and the owner of Murali Productions.

The total amount involved is ₹5 crore, while the court has now asked Yadav to deposit at least ₹2 crore within two weeks.

The latest order gives the actor temporary relief, but the court has made it clear that this is his final opportunity to comply with the payment condition.

The next hearing on October 5 will determine the further course of the matter.
