Actor Ranveer Singh has started shooting for his upcoming film ‘Pralay’ in Mumbai on Sunday. The makers officially announced the beginning of the shoot. The film is described as an action thriller set against the backdrop of an end-of-the-world crisis.

The story unfolds in Mumbai and revolves around a battle to save human lives in the middle of widespread destruction. The film is expected to combine action with a survival-driven storyline as the characters face a major crisis.
Ranveer turns co-producer
Apart from playing the lead role, Ranveer Singh is also taking on the responsibility of co-producing the film. The project marks an important addition to his lineup following the success of ‘Dhurandhar’.
Kalyani Priyadarshan joins the cast
South actress Kalyani Priyadarshan, known for her work in Loka, will also be seen in a pivotal role alongside Ranveer Singh. The film brings together the Bollywood actor and the South Indian actress for the first time in this project.

Shooting will take place at real locations, pre-production ran for months The film is being directed by Jai Mehta, who gained recognition from ‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story’ and ‘Lootere’. According to the makers, the film is being shot at real locations in and around Mumbai to give it a realistic look. Before shooting began in front of the camera, the film’s team worked on extensive technical pre-production for several months.

‘Pralay’ is being produced jointly by Ananya Birla’s Birla Studios, Hansal Mehta and Sahil Saigal’s True Story Films, and Maa Kasam Films.
