Kerala Murder Case | Woman & Child Killed; Accused Arrested in Bengal

In a case involving the murder of a woman and a child in Palakkad, Kerala, police have arrested a suspect from West Bengal.

He is accused of dismembering their bodies after the murder, stuffing the remains into sacks, and throwing them into the Bhavani River.

According to the police, the accused is a resident of West Bengal. He had been living with the woman and child in a live-in relationship for some time.

However, the woman was not his wife, nor was the child his. Police have clarified that there was no familial relationship among the three.

Body Parts Found in 2 Sacks Along the Riverbank

According to the police, parts of the woman’s and child’s bodies were found inside two sacks in the Bhavani River near Cherakadavu in the Agali area on Sunday.

This part of the river was dry at the time. Some people grazing cattle there noticed two sacks lying along the riverbank.

A strong stench was coming from the sacks. Suspecting something was wrong, they informed the Pudur police.

After this, the police reached the spot and examined both sacks. Inside them, they found severed body parts of a woman and a child.

The bodies were badly decomposed, making identification difficult

The police said that the body parts had decomposed considerably. Because of this, identifying the two victims was proving difficult. The condition of the bodies also indicated that they had been dumped there some time earlier.

A team of the Kerala Police had been sent to West Bengal. This team arrested the accused there. The accused will now be brought to Kerala on transit remand.

He will then be interrogated. The police say that the actual motive behind the murders will become clear only after questioning the accused.
