
Two more Air India pilots have failed a drug test. According to an NDTV report, both pilots have been grounded while the final test results are pending.
The investigation is being conducted following an incident on an Air India flight from Phuket to Delhi. Following the incident, the airline ordered drug tests for all its pilots.
The Air India Group has made screening tests mandatory for all its pilots from August 13, with around 300-400 pilots tested so far, according to sources cited by IANS.
Phuket-Delhi flight incident
On August 4th, a Phuket-Delhi flight suddenly plunged 300 feet during takeoff, injuring several passengers and crew members. The plane was carrying 137 passengers and eight crew members.
The pilot was tested positive for drugs after landing in Delhi. Following the incident, Air India ordered daily drug testing of pilots.
