The dog injured both husband and wife.
A couple who had gone to inspect a house in Patiala were attacked by a Pitbull kept inside the property.
The dog first grabbed the woman’s leg before biting her husband when he tried to rescue her.
When the husband screamed, the dog briefly released him and attacked the woman again, clamping down on her arm.
Hearing the couple’s cries for help, around five to six people reached the spot carrying sticks. They reportedly struck the dog 40 to 50 times before it finally released the couple and retreated into the house. The entire incident was captured on CCTV.
Woman undergoes surgery, husband gets stitches
The injured couple was taken to hospital for treatment. The woman underwent surgery on her hand, while the man received stitches for injuries to his leg and back.
Case registered, dog owner yet to be identified
Anaj Mandi police have registered a case against an unidentified person under Sections 291, 125A and 125B of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Police said the identity of the dog’s owner has not yet been established. The owner will be named in the case once their identity is confirmed.

Photo No. 1: On Tuesday (August 11) evening, Ankit Sabharwal, a resident of Arya Samaj Chowk in Patiala, reached the Ghuman area with his wife to see a house. A property dealer was also with them. In the photo, all three are standing and looking at the house they had come to see for purchase.
Photo No. 2: As soon as the property dealer who came to show the house opened the gate, a Pitbull breed dog came out from inside and directly attacked the woman standing outside. It went after the woman in such a manner that it knocked the woman down to the ground.
Photo No. 3: Seeing the dog attacking his wife, husband Ankit tried to save her. He kept trying to remove the dog with his hands, but the dog wouldn’t budge. Then he also called the property dealer for help.
Photo No. 4: When Ankit somehow managed to save his wife from the dog, the dog attacked Ankit instead. The dog first bit Ankit’s thigh. After that, it kept tearing at his back. In this situation, Ankit kept screaming loudly. Meanwhile, his wife steadied herself and moved a little away, and the property dealer went inside to call the house owner.
Photo No. 5: As soon as the house owner came out, she started raining blows with a stick on the dog. During this, the dog left Ankit’s back and again clamped his wife’s arm in its jaws. After this, it continued to bite her continuously.
Photo No. 6: Taking the stick from the elderly owner’s hand, the property dealer himself started beating the dog. Even after this, the dog did not let go. Instead, it started chewing Ankit’s wife’s arm badly. Seeing this, the dog’s owner called her neighbors.
Photo No. 7: Hearing the couple’s screams, people from nearby also came to help. They had sticks in their hands. They continuously hit the dog with sticks. Even after this, the dog did not move away. It kept biting Ankit’s wife’s hand.
Photo No. 8: After receiving about 40 to 50 stick blows, the dog stopped chasing Ankit and his wife. After this, people drove the dog inside the house by hitting it with sticks.
Photo No. 9: After getting rid of the dog, Ankit and his wife fled from the spot without looking at anything. Ankit’s wife’s arm was badly injured. Blood was flowing from it. Ankit took her and left through the side of the lane.
Woman admitted to private hospital
According to information, after the incident Ankit and his wife went straight to a private hospital. Treatment of both of them is ongoing there. Ankit has stitches on his back and thigh. After dressing his wounds, he was discharged from the hospital.
Meanwhile, Ankit’s wife has sustained serious injuries. After surgery on her hand, the doctor has kept her under observation in the hospital. She also has injuries on her back, thigh, and hip. Ankit has filed a complaint in this matter at Anaj Mandi police station.
Ankit Sabharwal arrived at the hospital for treatment.

Husband works in a bank
Ankit said, “If people had not come to rescue them, that dog could have taken their lives. A complaint has been filed with the police.”
Ankit, a resident of Arya Samaj Chowk in Patiala, is a banker by profession. He works at Yes Bank. Meanwhile, his wife teaches at a private institute. Ankit has demanded justice from the police and civil administration in this matter.
