
Public life is affected by rain in the northern and north-eastern states of the country. On Sunday, there is an orange alert for heavy rain in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and Bengal today.
In Uttarakhand, the water level of Tehri Dam has reached the danger mark. In Odisha, there is an alert for heavy rain till August 18. The bridge being constructed on the Kani River in Dasarathpur of Jajpur was washed away in the flood.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, public life was affected by floods in 6 districts of Odisha. Due to heavy rain in the last 24 hours, more than 95,000 people had to be evacuated to safe places from low-lying areas.
In Himachal, 183 people have died in monsoon-related incidents between June 30 and August 15. Till 5 pm on Saturday, 103 roads were closed in the state.
