
The Supreme Court on Wednesday said that law enforcement agencies should exercise restraint during protests. The court said that even if some misguided people resort to stone-pelting, there is a need to calm and explain to the youth.
The court has agreed to hear a petition seeking action against the organizers of the ‘Sansad Chalo March’ on July 20. The petition accuses the organizers of inciting violence.
A bench of Chief Justice Suryakant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohana has clubbed this petition with a similar case. This petition has been filed by a retired Air Force officer.
